Bylaws
Article I: Meetings
Section I
The LakeLP shall adopt the Constitution and Bylaws of the Libertarian Party of Florida as its basic guidance.
Section II
The LakeLP shall meet each month at a time and place to be determined.
A quorum, necessary to conduct any and all business at the monthly business meeting, will consist of 25% of all active members and/or three quarters of the Executive Committee.
Section III
Only members who are residents of Lake County shall be eligible to vote for LakeLP Party Officers and on other LakeLP Business.
Section IV
Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised (Current Edition) shall be the parliamentary authority for all matters of procedure not specifically covered by these Bylaws. LakeLP can adopt standing rules in order to dictate conduct during business meetings.
ARTICLE II: Suspension and Succession
Section I
The LakeLP may suspend and/or reinstate the LPF constitution, The LakeLP Constitution, and/or Robert’s Rules of Order by a majority vote of two-thirds, with a quorum of three-fourths of the active members.
Section II
The LakeLP may secede from the LPF with a two-thirds majority vote of the active members.
ARTICLE III: Miscellaneous
Section I
The Chair of the LakeLP has the authority to direct disbursements for the LakeLP of amounts up to $50.00 per month. Disbursements of higher amounts must be approved by the executive committee and paid by check or debit card.
Section II
Any member of the Executive Committee who miss more than two consecutive business meetings in a calendar year shall be considered to have submitted their resignation from the Executive committee. Members feeling that they have justifiable cause to miss a business meeting shall notify the Secretary and the Secretary shall report such notification to the Executive Committee and the Executive committee shall determine whether to accept such cause at the business meeting.
Section III
The Chair may appoint a Parliamentarian if the Chair so wishes. The Parliamentarian shall serve in an advisory capacity. The Parliamentarian shall not have a right to vote. The Parliamentarian may be called in to assist in drafting or revising Bylaws, to bring serious procedural errors to the attention of the Chair and to advise the chair in matters of party operations.
